AGM/Nomination meetings
It is the time of year when all PGARA Members need to attend and vote for the next years Board of Directors (BOD). Per the Societies Act, this news item will serve as a general notice to all members of the impending Annual general Meeting (AGM) and nomination meetings coming up.
The first nomination meeting has been held, on Sep 9/23 at the race track.
The second nomination meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at the race track, PGARA Speedway Park, at 6:30 pm.
The AGM will be held on Tuesday September 19, 2023, at a location to be determined and announced shortly. Please note that first year members may not vote at the AGM. Nominations for open positions can be received up to 30 minutes after the start of the AGM.
Any member of PGARA who remains in good standing may be nominated by another member who is in good standing. Any member who is not in good standing may not nominate a member, and a member who is not in good standing may not be nominated.
Proxy votes must be registered in writing with the PGARA secretary or or before the start of the AGM.
Please note the following definitions of members in good standing, and members not in good standing:
Member in good standing
a. A member of the society is considered in good standing if they
i. Pay their annual dues prior to the end of the current season or by such later date as set out and communicated by the Board of Directors
iii. The application in (ii) above is received and accepted by the society
vi. Act in public, including online, in a manner that promotes and supports the society
b. A member is considered NOT in good standing if they
i. Have not paid their annual dues prior to the end of the current season or by such later date as set out and communicated by the Board of Directors
ii. Have not completed an application form in a manner proscribed by the Board of Directors in the Membership section above, and the contact information is current and accurate
iii. Have outstanding fines previously imposed by the Board of Directors
iv. Have outstanding or uncompleted probationary period or other penalties previously imposed by the Board of Directors
v. Act in public, including online, in a manner that is detrimental, derogatory, or harmful to the society
