Welcome race fans to the 2013 race season.
Welcome to another exciting season of short track auto racing at the playground of power, PGARA Speedway. On behalf of the 2013 executive I would like to let you know what we have going on at the track this year. Our opening day has been moved back this year and will be May 25th presented by the Citizen with Hornets, Minis, Street Stocks, and king of the hill.
Our championship night and final race at PGARA of 2013 will be brought to you by Canadian Tire Sept 7th with points races being finished up under the lights and champions crowned.
Other things we are working on is a new rule book with a few small changes in each class and rules to be frozen for 3 years. It looks like our Street stocks will be running used good years or used Hoosier 970 tires this year. We are looking into getting the Alberta Super Trucks in for a show but it looks like it will more likely happen in 2014. There may be a music fest at PGARA this year as someone is interested in renting the track for a weekend. We decided to get rid of the Halloween Havoc hit to pass due to small car count and crowds, also being too dependent on the weather. There will be a teddy bear toss at one of the races this season with proceeds going to the children's wing at the hospital.
We hope to bring you an amazing year of outdoor entertainment as race fans, and memories to last a lifetime as racers.
See ya at the races Chris Arronge.
ASA OK Tire sportsman series.June 15th brings back the touring ASA OK Tire Series presented by White Spruce Enterprises and Mr Quick Lube and Oil with the fastest sportsman stock cars in Western Canada. Arca has had multiple cars join the series from the now defunct asa advance testing series bringing car count up for 2013.
Hit to Pass.
June 22 will be the Hit to Pass extravaganza brought to you by 94X and the Wolf with triple the regular prize money! $2500 to get the most laps in the main event, and $900 for 2nd, and $500 for 3rd. We pay all the way down to 10th place for $100. We expect a big car turn out for this event. We will also have trailer races at this event as well.
Also mark your calendars for our busiest weekend of the year, Aug 31 and Sept 1, sponsored by Chieftain Auto Parts, our labor day hit to pass with big car count, huge crowds and spectacular crashing. $7500 in prize money being paid out between the 2 main events equals epic smashing and destroying the competition action! Presented by 94X and the Wolf
Aug 10th and 11th brings back our Mr G Invitational weekend with our Chieftain Auto Parts mini stocks racing for $1500 for the weekend to be paid out by points. Absolutely no dogs allowed at race track.
For safety reasons no dogs are allowed at the race track. If a dog was to get loose and run on race track, would create a panic situation posing a risk to racers. Also a saftey risk for race fans with agressive dogs, people getting bit or dog fights etc. So please leave your dogs at home
